A week in Limassol. Part 1 (Limassol, Cyprus)
Dream by the sea

Cyprus is a curious country. This is a fairly popular seaside destination due to relatively liberal prices, plenty of sun and perfectly clear water, but I visited it at the invitation of friends living there. So I found myself for a week at the end of April in Limassol, which my friends affectionately call "Limassol".

Despite the fact that Cyprus (the Greek part of the island) is part of the European Union, Limassol hardly resembles the Europe we are used to seeing: dense and not very tidy quarters with narrow streets, markets (I almost wrote "eastern", but something then there is) and even roosters crowing in the morning. However, the city is very clean and pleasant.

Limassol is built linearly along the coast, which is not surprising - perfectly clear sea water seems to be calling to itself. As in many maritime cities, here everyone can find the kind of vacation that they consider the best for themselves: there are beaches with coffee houses overlooking the water, there are yachts for those who want to go further into the sea. Or you can just walk along the embankment, which stretches for several kilometers in one direction.
